I just aquired a 1986 ATC 250ES that needs some work, mainly undoing of many jury-rigs performed over the years. I'm trying to sort out how the rear axle/brake/hub assembly all goes together. bought the bike with no rear brake hardware on it, period, both hubs were welded to axle. Cut the hubs off and got axle out, gonna order an axle and hubs off of ebay, I was just curious if someone had an accurate picture of the left and right hubs off the bike that way i could get a good idea of what im looking for. from what i gather via ebay pictures, looks like 85 had different rear brake assy than 86,87. If anyone could set me straight it would be awesome, is the whole rear swingarm/differential/axle assy the same in a 250sx, 250es, and trx250?? I'm not entirely sure the hubs i even cut off were the correct ones for the bike. Thanks much.

The 250es and 250sx are fairly similar but the trx 250's shaft was on the right side instead of the left, if I'm correct.

couldnt you just flip it over then it would be on the opposite side?

Make sure and order the correct year. There is a lot of 85 model parts out there. You cannot use any 85 rear stuff on an 86 and 87. Hubs, axle, and brake assy all need to come from the same year. Hope this helps.
