need help on parts interchanging

Hey guys new to forum. Tried a search but couldn't find what I was looking for. I have a 84 atc 200s that I just got and needs some work I have a chance to pick up an 83 atc 200 and am wondering if parts will interchange especially the rear end and some of the covers and parts of motor. Any help would be appreciated thanks

Your going to find some stuff will inner change, how ever most won't. If you look up the parts you need on partszilla.com it will show you what other machines the parts were used on. Very Helpful!!

Ya I have been looking at sites like that some things do I'm more interested in knowing if the whole rear assembly will work the 84 I have the guy before has welded up a homemade longer swing arm with a shock and I want it back to no rear suspension and original not homemade junk

I'm assuming as long as I use the whole rear assembly it should work? Just don't want to buy the 83 if it won't work at all.

The engine parts should all interchange, except starter related components if one is electric and one isn't.

OK thanks now if someone might know about the rear end of it then I will definitely be buying the 83.

I am sure you could fab up something to make the rear end work. But if you want back to the way it was find a correct rear end. I might even have one.
