Hey,

So I got the front wheel off my Big Red and have the hub off but I cannot get the axle shaft out of the hub, any suggestions?

The hub and brake drum are pooched but I am hoping to save the axle shaft as I am picking up a replacement hub and drum on Tuesday.

I think there's a sleeve spacer thing on the axle shaft.
I soak mine all about once a week with liq wrench or similar.
Last one I took off was stuck too but the forks flexed enough to get the assembly
off.
Be glad it didn't break up the threaded aluminum casting.
Do you really need to get the axle shaft out?
I know it would be nice but may not be necessary.
I like the press idea but they can sure get stuck.

My housing and brake drum are damaged so I am picking up "new" ones on Tuesday but was hoping to not have to buy the shaft as well.

I had to use my 20 ton press to get mine out. Big hammer, torch, lube was NOT going to move it.

Well that was a real pain but my brother gave me a hand and we got it free.

Thanks for the advice guys.
