Are the 85 and 86 Lonestar billet carrier bearings interchangeable? I've asked a bunch of people and there are a lot of mixed answers....
My dilema:
I purchased an 85 Lonestar billet carrier.....My bike is an 85 ATC 250R.....Upon closer looking...I found out that my swingarm is off of an 86 ATC250R....
If they aren't interchangeable..does anybody have an 85 swingarm and brake stay they would trade for my 86 swingarm and brake stay?
Note: my swingarm is mixed colors...black, blue, gold...looks ugly...not my doing..
Would also swap carrier bearings...mine isn't brand new, it's used but in great shape.

No, the bearing carriers are not interchangeable between '85 & 86. The '85 bearing carrier has a smaller outside diameter, which gave it less chain adjustability than the '86-89 models. The '86-89 bearing carriers are interchangeable between each year. If you can return your '85 carrier for an '86 carrier, that would be the way to go. Unless you want to keep your '85, all 1985, I would go with the '86 swingarm, as the parts for the '86-89 design are easier to find.

I purchased it off of eBay and the seller has a 14 day return policy, buyer pays return shipping...I just messaged him about it.
I would like to keep it all 85, however, a brand new 86 carrier is only like $20 more than what I payed for this one that I won at auction.
