Hello! I just picked up a 1984 250R in nice shape for the age. I really don't know what has been done to it besides It has a full DG head pipe and muffler. The carb was sticking when I got it. The slide guide was pushed in and not holding it. The float was out of adj. and gas was pouring out of the vent tube. Now I'm at the point of trying to dial in the carb and came here for help. It is like a mosquito fogger right now. It is running rich or is blowing out old gas oil in the pipe. Any help would be great. But I will start a new thread if I can't figure it out. I'm a hour south of Chicago. Thanks,

Nick

This was my 1984 200x. I traded it and some $ for the 250R.

South of Chicago? Same here. Whereabouts? I'd suggest picking up a carb kit off flebay. The shindy ones run about $20.

Thanks. I live in Wilmington. I bought a new 1986 type flat slide carb and vforce3 reeds and spacer. I cant wait to get it put on.

I do wtb a 84 carb boot/intake a good set of used tires if anyone has the stuff for sale.
