Hey everybody. My dad and I are rebuilding a 1983 250R. WOW. What a deal. We literally got it in a tote and everything was torn down, so this has been very difficult to rebuild. But, we are closing in fast on the finished product :naughty:. Anyways, I am in need of some pictures of the rear suspension/shock absorber mounting. I can't figure out for the life of me how this shock mounts in, I know, how dumb. If anyone can help me, thanks!!

The top of the schock bolts to the rear engine mount. You have the bottom of the shock in the right hole . the other end bolts to the back of the swingarm. The link bolts to the bottom back part of the frame. The other end of the link bolts to the bottom hole under the shock. The shock will almost be verticle when done.

Ok I'll try that and see if it works. Thanks atc300r.

Can someone please just go take a picture of their 1983 250r rear suspension? I've already scratched my powdercoating up trying to fit this. Thanks.

Thanks. Those pics help. But, I cant seem to get the top shock bushing to sit in the motor mount. The hydraulic resevoir line is hitting the swingarm. See pics. Is that the correct shock for a 1983 swingarm??217764217765

Looks like you have it mounted 180 degrees backwards so oil fitting the other way towards the seat.

So then how would the shock bolt into the motor mount? If it is turned 180 degrees?
