i am having a hell of a time finding a shift shaft that will fit my '83 200. is there another model bike that is interchangeable ? i know that the 225 is too long already

Depending what model it is, you might find one at the site below if you can't find one elsewhere . . They have several million dollars in NOS inventory.

I just looked up one for an 83-84 YTM200EK and they have it . . The prices are in euros.
