kodiak ball joints.

working on 98 yamaha kodiak and the dam ball joints are welded on.has anyone cut the old ones off and replaced with new.the bike is for a friend and im trying to save him $450 for 4 new a arms.

You sure? Typically I have seen pressed in or retainer clip.

on the kodiak the ball joints were welded until 2003.

Yamaha is/was famous for making integral ball joints.

well you could find a way to modify the arms to take a more universal joint that bolts in and not worry about it again.

found some balls joints that will work with some modifications.allballs 42-1009.

you know that you need to plug that grease fitting right? it will get ripped off and ruin the joint.
