So i just got the old tecate going again, and i really hate how the drum brake works. If it gets wet at all they just refuse to stop you. i have almost a whole other 200x in parts and i thought i could put the front end off that on to the tecate. that way it would have the disk brakes, and smaller tire and ultimately would ride better. has anyone ever done this that can give me tips? i am a welder/fabricator so i can make whatever work. i looked around the site and havent found anyone that has don this before.218133
thats the current state of the build.

Much easier to put 85 Tecate forks on it (85 uses front disc brake system) rather then totally basturdizing your 84 IMO.
As far as tire sizing, you mean a narrower tire right ? You can mount a narrow front tire on the fat rim Tecates, not easy but manageable.

Maby if you reverse the the shocks you can get the tire to stop rubbing.
