First Outing on the 250SX

Finally, after waiting 30 years, I got out for a real ride on an ATC. Out here we have a place called Hungry Valley which is 19,000 acres of marked trails, track, hills, the works. I put my old 250SX through it's paces and it ran like a new bike all day. The little 70 you see in the photo is my son's that we've had that almost 2 years now, it's proven itself worthy as a chase bike. Both bikes are low-hour originals that just needed some fairly minor re-commissioning.

The best part of the whole thing? That 250 lived up to and surpassed any expectations of fun I had for it. Better than the (ancient) memory which isn't usually the case.

Grrreat stuff. It's been well worth chasing down this old dream.

I have been wanting to do the same thing for a while, but between work and college, my old honda has been sitting in the garage for 7 months. How hot was it out where you were riding?

I hear ya, all these years later, and its still fun! I hadn't been out on my SX in months, and went out this past weekend as well. My daughter snapped a quick pic....

It was only about 85 the day we went but this time of year you can expect 95-100 out there.


How hot was it out where you were riding?

I'm glad I went with the SX. It's plenty fast and perfect for where I'm at nowadays having the reverse and e-start. 10 years ago I'd have thought about a 200X or even a 350X.
