85 200x motor swap

Has anybody ever put a 86 200sx motor on a 85x frame just wondering how much work it'll be?

I don't know about that one, you are probably going to need to fashion the mounts to fit. The 250sx is a good motor, but just a little slow. The AutoX conversion is more widely used and the 200s engine drops in with no mods. To get the rear brakes to work, you need to get a 86 200x rear brake and spring and use a small metal plate to move the master cylinder to the left a few inches or have a new pedal manufactured. The 200m electric start works too, but starter clearance will mean frame modification.

250sx is shaft driven, so it would not work in any X frame. You can use an 86-88 200sx motor in an 86 X frame with minimal mods. Another member as well as myself have done this conversion. It makes it an E-start, w/ reverse, and a backup recoil starter. It goes by the call: Super X

I think he's referring to the TRX200sx motor into an 85 200x chassis.
