Hello, I have been seeing ATC 110s with no hi and lo range gear boxes on them on here, is this a kit from back in the day, or is this homemade, I would like to purchase one if anyone had one, and I would like some information about these. Thanks

All atc 90 110 and the first generation 125ms had hi lo range fear selectors. I do not ever think they made a kit to get rid of it. The only thing I think you seeing is either the motor has been replaced with a Chinese motor. Or those box's are just really hard to see in pics. One other question why would you want to get rid of that box it is very useful.

To answer your question , Guy's would re-move the Hi-Low sub transmission when building the motors bigger. They would have Hi range only. There was no need to go slow now. This would require machine work to the left side of case.:Bounce

Jeff is correct. The theory behind it is you could make quick gearing changes for different riding conditons. A lot easier than removing the sub trans or rear sprocket.
Here is a pic of one of me and my brothers race bike from back in the day. You can see the high/low removed.

Here is what is involved. You have to split your center case....while you are at it you may as well throw in a stroker for good measure. lol

Wasn't there an aftermarket kit back in the day that removed the low and replaced it with reverse? Seems like I saw one on here a while back.

I believe your thinking of a 200e kit.

A few years ago I eliminated the high/low range on an ATC110 engine, using guts and a sidecover from a 1980 CT110. The CT cover required a bead of weld to be added and subsequently ground flat, to cover the transmission oil galley that is cast into the outside of the ATC left side crankcase. The galley is almost in the same place but takes a different path. If not for the weld there would be a major oil leak! The hi/lo gearcase drainback hole in the left crankcase then had to be epoxied closed to complete the job (I would have welded that too if I had noticed it before the engine was assembled). It was a pain at the time because I thought it would all just bolt up, but looking back it was actually a fairly easy conversion.

Look very carefully at any 90/110/125 parts you feel like swapping. They are not impossible to frankenstein, but Honda made lots of changes to those motors throughout their production run.
