Like the title says I'm new here, so hello guys and girls! Like the forum, lots of good info. Right now I have a Yamaha 125 I think it's an 1985, anyway I want something with more power, the 125 has been fun but I'm 35 and not having any suspension is painful after a few hours of riding.

So here's the question, I am looking at going to get a Yamaha 225s I'd like a DR with reverse, and they seem to be pretty cheap around here in central Michigan. But I see a lot of Hondas and I hear everyone saying how the run forever. I guess I'm looking for advice on a Yamaha 225 vs Honda 185 or 250.

Is one way better ? Seems like the Hondas are a little more money but if it's better I would go Honda.

Thanks guys!!!

Yamaha 225s are very reliable, but the suspension is less than stellar, parts are slightly harder to find. I would go with a 250sx they are a true sport utility trike.

Since you have experience with Yamaha's and the 225's are great, but Jmoozy27 brings up some excellent points on them, if you can find a clean one grab it.

I have zero 250SX experience and have never owned one, but many love them.

I think a Honda 200X would be perfect especially if you are riding for a few hours as stated in your thread.

The Honda 185 doesn't have rear suspension either so that doesn't solve your problem.

If you are looking for a utility ride (auto clutch), you are pointed in the right direction with Yami 225 and Honda Big Red 250ES or 250SX.
Any other those should suit you well. I am a Honda guy, so I am biased in that direction.

If you are open to a manual clutch machine tailored more towards sport riding versus utility, there are a lot of other avenues to explore.
Good luck in your search.

I'm give my right nut for a nice 350x... I had a 225 years ago. Hard to tell it had suspension.

I have owned them both and they are both solid trikes. I too am bias toward Honda and you couldn't go wrong with one.what keister said, either of those would be probably what your looking for.

I would be ok with a manual clutch, my biggest thing really is money, I don't wanna spend a lot. That's what got me looking at the 225 because I have found a couple for under 500$ indefinitely want something faster and suspension so I am going to look at the 200 and 250 if I can find anything for around 500$
Thanks for all the replies, this forum is busy as a mofo lol
