Hi all,
Just want to ask what's the difference between the original boots with breather hoses and aftermarket boots without the breather hoses

Cheers,
Jacky

I have bought a few sets of fork boots on ebay. The ones I bought were made specifically for my trike, but there are many universal fork boots out there. If you cannot find ones that are made for your YTM200, measure your forks and see what size you want. There is a wide range of universal fork boots on ebay, just read the reviews to make sure the ones you are buying are good quality and have the right dimensions.

I looked up the diagram and the original one had the breather hoses attached to the fork boot. Will the aftermarket one with no breathers make much difference?

I am not 100% sure, but it shouldn't hurt to go without a breather hose. Both of my 200x trikes and my YTM200 didn't have the breather hoses and I never had a problem with them.

I run a set of oem boots with the tubes. They are horrible if you ride in wet conditions as they fill with water and have no means to drain it. The gators should have drain holes in the bottom, poor design on Yamaha´s parts. My rebuilt forks are rusted after very little use.

The only draw back to the holes in the perforated style is that the whistle when you work the front end with the engine off.
