Picked this up a few days ago. Plastics are trashed runs on either 3 flats $250.I need to rebuild one of my 250R rear master cylinders.....didnt have one on it. I also realized when i removed the carb to clean it the air boot clamps are also missing. While cleaning the carb i lost the #40 pilot jet.... so i need one of those too. The 32 year old ohatsu rear tires hold air for a day or so the front not so lucky....so i need one. I haven't rode in years and im itching to.The rear swingarm and axle are tight and in great shape and the engine has great compression . I belive this poor trike has sat most of its life. I just wanna ride it like it was meant to be. Anyone with cheap parts, rear master, air boot clamps, Front tire please let me know thanks.

Welcome. For your bikes years there are "parts o plenty" on ebay. I'm doing up the last trike I own......an 85 200x and can find just about everything I need there. Good luck.

For the master cylinder I would find a cheap chinese one on ebay and then fab up an adapter plate to make it fit. Thats what I did on my 84 200x. Oh and remeber you need dot 4 brake fluid. as for the pilot jet I wouldn't even bother getting it a carb kit with my experience with these old carbs is they just leak and the bike just doesn't run right. I would go ahead and spend the money on one of these carbs: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-ATC200X-Carburetor-Carb-1983-1985-NEW-/391292458562?hash=item5b1ad91642:g:LGMAAOSwPhdU7Mj 3&vxp=mtr This is the same carb I have on my 200x and no complaints here. when my front tire finally goes I am going to replace it with this tire http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cheng-Shin-TM16512-C832-Tire-23-5x8x11-Rear-/321703753994?hash=item4ae709b90a:g:mTMAAOSweW5VXgJ U&vxp=mtr. As for the rears some good knobbie tire or holeshot tire are what I prefer. Or you stock tire look to have a lot of tread why not just tube them. now for the clamps all the really are are glorified hose clamps I would go to the hard where store and get something close enough. Now I know you did not ask for fenders but for the front I would bye the 85 8 250r front fender as it is a direct bolt on and is cheaper and looks better than the stock style. here is the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-HONDA-ATC250R-85-86-RED-PLASTIC-FRONT-FENDER-ATC-250R-/281602538530?hash=item4190d1bc22:m:mbB6c1KCCh87t1w 0HCMUk9g&vxp=mtr. Sorry for the long post but I think just about all the info you need is here.

Made some more progress today .... i have a tire that will hold air for a bit on the front.... now i need epoxy to mate seat /plastics because i broke a few studs on seat pan where latch goes, will be ordering a new carb and rear master soon then i can get a lil seat time!!! Also after i cleaned the carb. the intake boot does not fit its too short ... why? Iso genuine kehien #40 pilot jet have heard they run better with the genuine jets.

Update its alive .... only runs on choke for the moment. My first ride was short but fun
goes thru the gears well. no slip in clutch feels like a solid bike the power surprised me
cant wait to get her right now.

Well lets do process of elimination.

It ran like crap with a smaller main jet so you need more fuel.

1st off you need to tell me the exhaust you have, stock? Aftermarket? Home made?
2nd you need to tell me the air filter...if its crappy K&N throw it away. only use a oil foam filter like uni.
3rd does it have an air box lid? holes in lid? or not lid?

Your air fuel screw should be about 2 turns out from seated position

Stock jetting is 40 pilot and 110 main....which is very tiny for the bike. I think you should be around 130 main jet for sure. Buy a few at the dealer or off ebay specifily for your carb and go play until your plug is the color of favorite candy bar(any darker your getting too much fuel...any lighter your sucking too much air.)

Carbs and jetting is about balance...if it pisses you off too much go buy a fuel injected atv and just ride.
