HMMMM....I believe I just scored on a short track tank for 83-84 R.I picked it up at a swap meet last weekend. Its new with a couple scratches.Made by IMS. part # ATC-18.Cant find that part number anywhere on the web??Has NO provisions for air dams/shrouds.It has noticeable clearance / recession for forks.I took a picture with an 85 seat just for size comparison.Let me know what you think.. Thanks

Its just an IMS tank. Even there 200x tanks are cut back like yours is. The 83-84 didn't really need shrouds as they all got broken off and the bike was air cooled anyway. You don't see many tank in plastic for 2nd gen R's but they retail at $275.00 new.

Interesting.I have an IMS tank on my 84 and it looks nothing like this nor does it have the recess in front??I can't find any tank be it 200X or 250R that even comes close to resembling it other than the Phase Five 200x short track tank???(I know this isn't a 200X tank). The part number doesn't come up anywhere either.I will give IMS a call tomorrow. Thanks for your info..

phase 5 200x tanks look like the IMS ones. Just like my red one.

No one is making new "Persay" short track tanks IMS does make a lot of copies on the 200x's but other models that was really a Honda thing for 3rd gen R's

Nice bike!!..I just carefully measured the capacity and it holds just under 2.75 gallons..I think stock is 3.3 if i'm not mistaken??I was told by the previous owner that he had it for many years in the attic.

ims makes a 2.0 gallon for 83-84 and a 4.2 for 83-84 81-82 gets a 3.2
