Restoring Bike, what to do about engine? Paint, Powder Coat, do they hold up to heat?? Or just use elbow grease to clean well??

I try to just clean them well and paint the cases with vht

Try elbow grease first, before you try repainting! You will be surprised how the original case paint will clean up.
After degreasing, I was able to polish up all the paint on my case and it took a shine!
