If it's 12 volts all you need is a simple one or two wire regulator. Radio shack, eBay, any atv dealer could get you one, or off of any older snowmobile. Easy to find and cheap. The time it took you to come here and ask about one, you could have ordered one. I'm not bashing, I'm just saying.

yes your right .but i thought the yamaha 125 trimoto was a 6 volt system .if im wrong please correct me someone .both bulbs work when its started .as you rev it up the voltage rises topping out in the 20 volt range .its allways the headlight bulb that blows.thank you for the reply.

Do you have the tail light working? From what I understand about these is there is no regulator so you need both lights working to balance the current, if one goes out the other gets too much juice.

If it's going all the way to 20 volts, you could use a 12 volt regulator and switch to 12 volt bulbs. I did the same thing with an atc 70 that would pop the bulbs, put on a 12 volt regulator and bulbs, no more problems.

your lighting coil acctually produces an ac current there is no regulator/Rectifier. the bulbs run on ac but you need to make sure you have the right wattage bulb it cant just be any 6v bulb. also check your ground.
