Snowmobile Tracks on the Tires?

Hi All,

I came across a post a while back where the author talked about cutting snowmobile tracks, deflating your tires a little bit, putting the tracks around the back tires, and then re-inflating them so that they would be better in the snow.

My question is: How does one go about cutting the track and then re-connecting it so that it'll stay on the tire?

I have seen this done the guys just drilled holes on the ends of the track and overlapped them and used small bolts with washers to hold it together. They used an old studded snowmobile track and cut it to fit the tires. If you have an old track you can try it but I would not spend money on it because it works better than tires but not by much.
