They speculate he had CTE like pro football players and that this was the factor in his depression and brain injury issues that led to his suicide.

I met Dave at Wellsboro rally racing. It always boggles my mind that mental illness can overpower leaving your kids without a parent.. I know it's real, and my problem that I do not understand. I really wish he could have reached out to someone. Either way, he was a great guy. R I P Dave.

There's such a stigma attached to anything mental illness in this country that I think people are afraid to ask because of this or maybe they feel guilty for troubling someone else with their issues. I've lost four friends since '91 from suicide and I never once saw it coming. Those friends seemed like they were handling things just fine with one friend killing himself two hours after I left his house playing cards. You never can tell.

Life is precious.

Praying for his wife and kids.

So sad and what a legend! I was into bmx and freestyle in the late 80's and 90's. After high school he was hit by a drunk driver crossing the street. He cracked his skull open and had a blood clot on his brain along with a broken shoulder. He turned pro in 92 and rode for Hoffman. RIP Dave...

I also was saddened and shocked to hear this..... Seems like so many Great's are just boiling over anymore ...just don't know what to say and just wonder who's next .

Correct, I don't know what I was thinking, my memory must be slipping. (Should have read it)

Still a good video!

Not to be a douche because Mirra was a legend along with DMC and Hoffman, but Darwinism dude…everybody's got crazy trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro going on in their lives, but how selfish of anyone to kill themselves…saying this as I have recently lost family and friends to suicide and have been dealing with the impact firsthand. Don't be a f***ing asshole, get help and live..if not for yourself, for your family. Sorry guys, it's been a rough day.

Amen. I've lost four friends in 25 years by their own hand. Every time I go to one of these funerals, one side of me is sad for their pain but the other side of me wanted to scream what you just said, kick over the casket and walk out.

I can't stand seeing the misery and GUILT experienced by friends and family who blame themselves for not being able to save their loved one from depression and its damn sure not fukkink fair to them.

Make it look like an accident for fluck sakes!!!
