Hey guys, I have a question regarding my clutch on a 83 ATC200. It feels as though the clutch doesn't let go soon enough. It hasnt slipped on me yet, but I'm thinking the plates are getting wore out. It would be great if I could get some I pit on this before I start tearing the plates out. Thanks. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160222/30324f96c7795916b1185d36ab996a21.jpg

Adjust the clutch first, use the recommended oil...You could try a 3rd gear start and see if the clutch slips....Then you'll know what you have to do.....

dido on that change the oil and adjust the clutch. if you do have to change out the clutch plates its not that bad just have to buy the special socket to open the clutch basket.

Thanks guys!!! I will have to try it. Oil was changed about ten hours on it so it's relatively new

I adjusted the clutch about four hours on the machine and it still does it. Not as bad but I can feel it let free way to late.

It could be the pre or centrifugal clutch getting gummed up.....It is supposed to be cleaned periodically...While your in there, you'll see the main clutch housing and basket assembly. Once you break the seal. you'll have to get gaskets, including the pre clutch or centrifugal gasket.
