Hi guys,

I am trying to replace my axle off of my 1982 200e big red. I have gotten the axle off. The problem that I have run into is the part on the axle that the chain sprocket bolts to is different on the axle I took off and the new axle that I bought. The axle is the same size just that part is different. My question is can that part be taken off of the axle and switched? it looks like it has groves that it can slide off of, but I have beaten it good with a hammer and it will not budge. Any help would be AWESOME!!

Thanks!

Yikes!

It may be easier to search the schematics or parts fiche on the Honda sites, or Bike Bandit and find out if you can match up the "new to you axle" with a year and a model. Then sell it and get the correct one?

A machine shop with a press might be able to help you?

More money and lots of risk though.

Good luck.

Let us know what you decide. There are lots of posts about this on the interwebs. All seem to fade away into nothing though.
