'83 200e ready for another 30+ years

228744228745228746228747228748228749228750It all started the night I brought it home and just wanted to clean it. 1st I took off seat, then battery, racks, fenders,air-box, tank, bars then-oh my-cables & wiring. That was night #1. Next several days were cleaning and labeling parts. Sent frame & parts to powder coat. Hours of sanding fenders & repairing a couple cracks. Pictures I took of every step, along with labeling everything, was invaluable. Had trouble with alignment-that's when I found 3ww and guys helped me right away! THANK YOU! It runs & drives nice. Still don't have a book for it. Thank god for goggle. It all works and I'm happy

That looks really nice. I loved my 83 200e. Was the best machine for camping. I had a trailer full of firewood hooked up, me and my 250-300 pound friend was on the back, and chugged away through the woods to our campsite with ease. I had some gear strapped to the racks too.

I installed a 12v cigarette lighter outlet in the trunk too so I could power some stuff and charge your phone if need be. Or plug in your tire pump. I like to have them put on all my big reds.

Thank you, ghostv2. It sure was a fun learning experience. I've often wondered about those 12v plugs and what was used on them back in '83. Pretty cool, though. I like your idea of lighter in trunk.
