First post... Looking for some input on the 250sx.
I picked up a non runner and was so far able to get it to fire, order a carb rebuild and go through some nuts and bolts.
First priority is to get it going. It needs new front forks and tire. I may go with the 23x7x10
Upgrade.
Any advice?229138229139

I see tons of potential, as that's a pretty clean SX.
I prefer myself, the stock SX forks, along with the narrow tire/wheel combo, but a lot of guys love the X to SX conversion, so if you think that's something you're interested in, do a search , as there are tons of threads on the subject.
Keep the updates coming!

The forks are rubbed right through from an oversize tire. That caused water to get inside, froze, dirt... There is allot of slap and play.

Ahhh, Mine are rubbed, but not clear thru, I bought a Kenda Front Max 22x11x8 and although it was the right size tire for the SX, the Side Lugs rubbed badly. I ended up sanding the side lugs off with a belt sander, but the tire still rubbed a little.

Some under the hood shots. The machine is more than 95% survivor.

So I was able to get the 23x7x10 front tire set up and on. Carb rebuild is sounding good and the machine is running.

Not yet, I wanted to make sure everything else was stable and running well before I lay down any more $

Looks good! I think I am going to change my front tire over to the thinner setup.

It looks like the same tire I am running on both of my SX's, a Duro Thrasher.

I didn't know you could run a 10" wheel on the front. Where did you buy the wheel/tire?
