Anybody got a good housing? Mine has a crack I just found today that is leaking.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure I have a 250SX housing. Shouldn't be any difference, just the color it is painted (assuming you use your gears). The SX gears etc are still in it, but the ring gear spines are worn badly.

I tried to look one up on ebay to get an idea on how much they go for but all I saw was a housing for $200+ pretty crazy. Does $50 + shipping sound fair for the housing? I have the tool to disassemble it, but if you don't I could leave the gears in it and I'm pretty sure you can press out the center collar from the ring gear and press in your big red one, but I'd like to get ~$100 as a whole unit.

Can an SX diff be used on an ES?
Partzilla isn't showing it as crossing.

Yes they interchange as a whole unit. The part number is different because the 250es housing is silver while the sx housing is black. The sx diff was replaced with a 250es diff as a whole unit as I found one local for $100 which sure beats the $200-500 price on ebay :).

Ring gear is 1 tooth off from the 250es gearing. I'm not 100% sure if the guts can be interchanged, but the sx gears are fine if you don't mind the 1 tooth higher gearing. I'd say it should have the bearings replaced, but I didn't run it. I got the machine because it stopped moving (axle+splines were bad). I'd offer a 250es diff, but I'm out of spares currently.
