Hey Guys,

Picked up a 89' kx500 motor for my 86' t3. Did this more as a "reliability" mod vs the power increase, but you really can't have too much HP. Haven't swapped it over yet, but will be starting soon. I do have a couple questions, hopefully you guys can answer.

1. The motor has all tecate ignition parts on it (stator, flywheel, CDI and coil). What can I expect from this combo vs the kx500 stuff? Looks like a little less timing with the tecate CDI.
2. With the Tecate intake can I still use my airbox?

Hoping to accomplish this quickly, and have it ready for Trikefest this year.

Looks like I will need the kx500 bottom mount bolt as well. Going to have a decomp valve installed in the head and hopefully have this up and running in a few weeks. Couple more questions:

1. Gussets for tecate frames? I've seen these for the 350x's and wondering if anyone has gusseted the 86' tecate frame, and where.
2. I saw a guy named Nick made a few 500 pipes for folks around here, looks like that's no longer available. I will probably start off using the stock kx500 pipe, but looking for new alternatives that I can modify. It seems like the pro-circuit pipe is a favorite, and should not require much to make work. Any thoughts on this?
