I just acquired a Big Red 250...I don't know the year yet....I know it runs and drives and the foot brake works...no smoke...seems to run pretty good...It's still on the truck..going to take it to the car wash in the morning and clean it up...then the FUN begins...goal is to get it nice and reliable...plan in using for pulling a little trailer on my hunting properties....

Pics to come

Looks like I'm going to need the bearings on the axle ...bearings in the steering neck...runs good...shifts good....Been some butchering done to the wiring from the start button to the starter....but does start usually on the first kick...the starter works jumping it...will get it straightened out...

I do need an exhaust header pipe ...have a hole in the exhaust right past the protective cover....any where to get an after market exhaust? Found a bunch of used header pipes on Escam...I'm not a big fan of EBay or PayPal

Not sure which seal you need, but this may help. And welcome to the site!

Just to point out, there are aftermarket bearing kits that should have everything you need. The problem though is unlikely to be locally sold and feebay/paypal is needed to get em.

Front stem bearings from honda is nearly $80...

Looks like the front forks might be bent, not really a rare thing with 3 wheelers though.

That "aftermarket" shifter is killer though lol.

If you need parts and want to avoid paypal/ebay, I have quite a few and could take a postal money order though the mail (or bitcoin if you are into that). I'm still researching it out, but I'm working on sourcing a handle bar switch to match the 250es ones from other Honda machines. Just not sure if the choke will work on it, have to order one and hope.

I can't see the rear end in the photos, but I'd guess it is an 85... it is the most common year for the 250es =). Oh it also has an aftermarket plastic tank, good chance it is Clark brand. Good thing to note if you ever need parts for the tank (cap, seal, etc).

I buy alot of parts off E Bay using paypal . My opinion , works for me .
Most auto parts stores will have a listing for cycle parts . That includes atc's . I buy bearings from them all the time . Oil filters , batteries and light bulbs . All listed in the parts book and in stock for Honda three wheelers .

A lot of the bulbs are standard for motorcycles too so pretty common if you know their "common" name. Like the HM202 headlights for the 350x, T10 bulbs for the big red tail lights, T5 bulbs for the dash lights, etc.

I do not know how long it has been since you bought something off of ebay. But they have gotten so much better. we order from ebay almost weekly and we almost never have a problem.

Big reds just run, it's not like a 4 wheeler that after a few years is a pos. Just fix the rigged stuff and it will be very reliable!

You're close but I suspect you wanted to make a new thread instead of replying to this one.

Go here -> https://gyazo.com/c438844c91e6b74d23292ebbd041cc60

Then click the new thread button as shown in this photo -> https://gyazo.com/c438844c91e6b74d23292ebbd041cc60

You'll get a lot more people reading, and probably get more replies on topic too.
