quick question would not having a regulator rectifier cause my 86 honda atc 125m to stop sparking

To diag the no spark issue, you'd want to test your ignition coil, alternator/generator, pulse generator, and if all test good, then possible CDI replacement. Everything is tested with a multi meter, specs are in the service manual, if you can't find it post and I'll screen shot the specs.
