hello! just picked up a 1983 250r that is apparently just needs a piston. My question is the guy says the jug has been honed, would this change the size of the piston needed? or will the stock one still work. thanks

Just being honed doesn’t mean much. The cylinder needs to be accurately measured so you will know what sized piston will fit correctly. If run too long a cast OEM piston can rattle enough to break & take out the crankshaft. Do it correctly & save an accident.

Dial bore gauge. Used in conjunction with a micrometer, you need to measure the cylinder top middle and bottom on 2 axis'.
