Sure looks like a 200s to me. Check inside gas tank for rust. See what oil looks like. See how it runs and shifts through ALL gears. Maybe an expert will chime in to tell you more. I only know a little.
Welcome. It's a great site. Where are you in Alaska? We lived in anchorage, barrow & point hope, back in '99-'02. I still dream of it.

Well this deal feEl through, was going to go get it and they guy called and said the cops came to his house and took it because it was hot. So now he is battling with the guy he got it from for his money. On the other hand I score a deal not to far from me. I picked up a 1983 200e big red and another one came with it for parts.232158232159

first off the first one was not an s the s was made in 84, also a nice upgrade to the later model 200 is to change the hubs and tires to 22-11-8 like the 185s and the 200s, gives them better handling. After looking at the pictures better that is a 200m. I have found when someone tells you that they found the machine was hot, they usually found someone who offered them more money for it and plan to sell it to the other person.

That more than likely is what happened... I like the big red I ended up picking up, it has a lot of spare Parts also.

The past few days I was able to tinker with the big red for a little bit. some things I would like to do is tune up and oil change. with that being said what a good spark plug to run in the 200E and what oil would be best?

I'd use what Honda recommends for the spark plug. As for the oil, use a good, quality oil from a manufacturer or an aftermarket such as Maxima. Just make sure it's for an atv. Brand doesn't really matter as much as type. Of course all of the manufacturers say that their oil is made for their machines.

I believe the "m" had elec. start. If that's an "m" it's gone thru quite the transformation.

Only place I've ever worked where they closed operations down due to a fox chasing geese on the runway. We were installing approach lighting. I wanted pictures but they told me it'd be my last day.

The bike is actually a plain 200 the fenders and the tool box give it away. However the front end has been replaced by a 200e or 200es.
