Hi you all, I am glad to be the newbie aboard. The rear brake housing on my '83 Honda 185S (runs great) has the two brake cables going in of course; but an inch or so in front of that there is connected to the drum a hose about a foot long that leads to nothing. What is it's function? Is it just an air vent? On my '84 200S a similar hose seems to go all of the way up and under the gas tank forward, but I cannot tell where it ends. Much appreciation to any who can answer.

Correct. It lets heated expanded air out of the brake drum cavity.
