Hi Guys as it say's i need some help
a while back i picked up a very early Tri-Moto the Decal says 79 DT175
but i am missing the pull start it dose have the part for the kicker to bolt up but not enough clearance to pass the axle.

is there any newer models or an ATV that i could adapt to fit my bike
(i would even take a cheep Chinese replica at the moment)
the biggest problem i have is down here in Australia they are very hard to come by and parts are even harder. and buy the time i get all the right parts together and and pay postage from the states i would be looking at well over the $1000 mark.
if any one has any ideas i am open
thanks Mat:wondering

You've got a real treat with that YT175! The DT175 is a dirtbike motor, from what i understand, they are much better performers. Many of the parts do interchange between the 2 engines. I'd forgo the pull start and stick with a kick.
Do you have any pictures of this?

The YT175 was a pull start, the DT175 was a kick start. You'd want to look for the kickstart. Starting it would probably require you to remove the fenders, start it, replace the fenders, and then ride. On my YT175, i did this just to use the choke. It wasn't much of a hassle.

I'd look into finding a DT175/dt125 kick start. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kickstart-Lever-Yamaha-DT125-DT175-MX175-2A6-15620-01-00-/272300850279?hash=item3f66653c67:g:cJQAAOSw3YNXbYk-&vxp=mtr

Would the kicker from a blaster (maybe banshee)fit. A dt200 like all dt bikes will be to long. Remove fenders their optional
Cut and weld the kicker u have to fit.
If all else fails push start it like a man.
