I'm breaking down this SX and when I got to the engine, I pulled the oil filler cap off and fuel spewed out. I checked the oil when I bought it and it was good to go. I rode it twice for about an hour each time before I decided to break it down for some cleaning and powder coating.

Any ideas what may be going on?

Thanks for any help.

Sounds like a carb/float issue. Time for a rebuild!

That sounds about right. I heard there's a guy around these parts that may know a little about rebuilding carbs.

Frig! Leave it to a truck driver to suggest a fuel stop.

Frig! Leave it to a truck driver to suggest a fuel stop.Ha, hadn't thought of that. I attributed the slip to the fact that his name is Jim.

He has provided an excellent tutorial, if you'd like to attempt the rebuild yourself.http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/161746-ES-SX-350X-Carb-rebuild-Tutoral?p=1257154#post1257154

I heard he has a really reasonable price. I rebuilt the one on my CR and it wasn't bad. But, I'm hoping to get rid of this carb. It seems a bit beat up.

Watch out! He's barrel assing! Haha!

Yeah you might be able to make your carb look like new again it that's a concern of yours. I'm sure it's feasible. Or just get with FlyingW and see what he's got for ya!

FlyingW did a great job for me a couple of years ago. Mine looks better than new. I'd give him a shout.
