I've got a 83 big red 200. I'm in the process of fabricating a lift kit. My question is if I build a 4" lift kit for the back will it out the driveshaft in too much of a bind to where it wouldn't work? I don't mind putting a better u joint on it. But if it won't work at 4 inches how big of a lift could I make. If anyone has pictures of their 200 big red lift kits in the back of love to see them. Thanks!

You said you wouldnt mind if you had to make concessions for a larger lift. I say just go ahead and lift it first, ask questions later. Good Luck!!

No the 83 big red 250 is chain driven. This one has high low and reverse. Shaft driven. In the process of going bigger now with a stretch lift. Having trouble extending the driveshaft

The frame near the fork says it's 83. Dont care either way. Just bought it to make it huge.

Post a picture of it for crying out loud.

10Th digit of the vin. Not the build sticker that says it was built in 83.

There is no 83 250.

Being vague on an internet forum is counterproductive.

And the manufacture date is not to be confused with the model year. Generally speaking you can buy a 2016 model on January 1st, 2016, thus it was built in 2015 sometime (not on the same day - the first day of the year). All of my 1985 model ATCs were built in 1984. See how this works?

I'm sure the guy has an 84, but i didn't really see the point in arguing. its a shaft drive 200, and he wants to lift it. i would imagine his biggest challenge will be the swingarm and drive shaft. he'd need to do something similar to the above thread i posted.
