Got it for $650 from an estate sale in texas. Going to make it my hunting machine. Runs like a top and everything works. Plastics are needing replaced and it's missing the side panels. I'll post some build pictures when I get it going.

Great deal! Make sure you save the plastics if you can! They are expensive and hard to find! Many times you can wet sand them to like new condition!

Will do, but don't really want to store a bunch of extra parts. (Plastics, wheels, tires, gas tank) my new plastics from Maier will be here Friday, plastic tank will be here next week with my new front wheel. ('86 250es thought I would throw that in)

Listen I cannot tell the exact condition of your plastics, but just so you know if those are the original Honda plastics and they are in decent shape they are worth something. Please make sure you either store them correctly or they get into the right hands. That goes for the metal tank as well. Just so you know!

Those are good for about 45 mph or so. They're fantastic machines!

Pretty sure they are originals, who would be the right hands? Don't want anything for them, if someone else can use them they are more than welcome to them. That goes for the stock wheels, tank, and the 25x12x9 nubby tires.

I would be interested in the plastics you are taking off. I just bought a Big Red and it needs plastics.

Christ that sucks! I had mine bounce off the window once and I couldn't believe it didn't break! See that's why they're banned!

If I could have all the money I spent on stuff like that, I could retire, now. Good thing is, the chance it happening again is smaller.

Been slow going on my 3 wheeler the past few days while I try to decide what my next steps are.
I have my new plastics but after reading through some of the other threads, hydro dipping doesn't last on plastics or the plastic tank.
My question is has anyone tried vinyl wraps? If so has it worked?

I did vinyl wrap and it held up great. Did it myself like I stated in the PM. Love the wheels too!

Looks good, gives me high hopes for mine. I hadn't thought of doing the forks or headlight, might follow your lead there.

Took some time but I got it done. Never did it before so I was quite happy with the results. Plus it was very durable.

Found some info on the big bore kit from Mickey Dunlap, side cover off of a Forman 350D for a oil cooler, and scattered info on the 18% gear reduction. My machine is going to be in the mountains hunting mostly (probably pulling a small trailer). My question is am I headed down the right path?
I'm not really a mechanic and no good at tuning so the engine build will need to be sent off if I do it.

Well you have a three wheeler so of course you're on the right path! Just my opinion but I think I'd try things like a bigger cam, carb, and a higher compression piston before going with a big bore kit. You may be happy with the performance of these. Then again, since I don't know how much power is enough for you, maybe not. No matter what you do, this will never be a 250r or have the power of one. As for me, I'm happy with the performance of my stock 250sx. I feel that if I need more, I have my 1985 350x or my 1997 kx250 so my need for speed can be satisfied with one of these.

If I wanted speed I would get the outlaw/KTM 525 fired up, for long runs the rzr would be running. Probably just do the 350 kit for the fun of it.
