234712 intake and exhaust cover bolts to get to my valves to adjust them are completely seized I tried every and all effort to get the off to adjust my valves... I can here my valves tapping... So hear is my question ::: can I just remove the cover????? I believe its 4 10mm bolts and 4 Allen head and I have some gasket maker rtc silicone.. Is it really that easy.. It's a 200s motor...

Unfortunately, no. The cover holds the cam in place, and the rockers, rocker shafts, and adjusters are all mounted up in the cover. Are you using a socket or a wrench? If wrench, open end, box end, or adjustable? Those caps can fight back, but I've never lost a battle with one.

Open end.. I put a socket on it but from the last owner I guess he stripped it a little looks like maybe a pipe wrench and I thought hmm maybe a pipe wrench would work but I'm almost certain they are aluminum and it would eat them up... Can u give me a tip.. I was told pb blaster would eat into the seals ND gaskets etc......

Heat them up with propane or map gas torch and use a 6 sided socket. When you are done put some anti seize on the threads.

I'm very nervous about stripping the bolt though.. Cause then I believe I'm screwed

Its metric so if it does try to strip out i have taken a standard socket 1 size smaller and knock it on with hammer and got them off easier

I know I need to take my gas tank off if I'm gonna heat up the valve case should I also pull the carb to do this ?
