1984 Honda 125M Fuel Shutoff Issues

I have (1) 1984 Honda 125M three wheeler and (1) 1985 Honda 125M three wheeler and (1) 84 for parts. All three have issues with the fuel shutoff valve. None of them can actually shut the fuel off. 235040
Is there anyway to fix these? If I drill out the rivets can something in there be fixed?

Probably never turned for most of it's life. It is probably corroded enough that even getting it to turn won't make it work. I suspect that there is no way to rebuild it. And it would either end up leaking from around the stem or passing even when off.

If you are not stuck on original, it shouldn't be hard to get a generic replacement. (And cheaper) Of course you have little to lose by trying.

I figured as much that I was not going to be able to fix it. So now I have a dilemma, purchase a rebuild kit and a new fuel shutoff, or purchase one of these $18 carbs off of Amazon?
