Need 200x stator info

Next on the list to fixing up this 200x was to replace the broken/jb welded stator cover. Found one on eBay, purchased, took the old cover off, went to swap the old stator into the new cover, and it is completely different. Old cover had 2 screw holes securing the mounting plate to the cover, and the stator winding were secured to the mounting plate. New cover has 4 screw holes with no plate and bigger windings. I wasn't aware of a difference in the 83-85 covers or stators. Outside, the covers are exactly the same, inside they are different. Does anyone have any info on this?

Mine is also a 2 bolt. 83 x. 83- 85 should be the same. I've searched and some say different year xr stator fit. Just Google it, but when I went to my local Honda parts store and asked, I was told that the fly wheel was slightly larger on the x and the xr probably wouldn't fit, but I don't know for sure.

I can't figure out where or what the 2nd one came from. The stator is obviously different and is too big to for inside the flywheel on my trike, but the cover itself is exactly the same minus the stator mounting points.
