I was born on 9/29/61, and on 9/29/16 I turned 55. I have a hazing paddle that I bought at a yard sale decades ago because it had my birth year painted on it. I didn't think about it until flipped it around that 1961 upside down is still 1961, and if you reverse 929, it is still 929. If you reverse 61, it is 16. If you reverse 55, it is still 55. I am the middle child of 7 kids. Spooky.

50 in March, ridin trikes since 83,never owned a 4 wheeler and have always had a honda except one kawasaki somthin 200 bonecrusher(hardtail)3 wheeler manual clutch, limited slip which ya had to lock cuz it cud launch ya off the bike in a turn when the rear locked up,and goin up steep hills it would pop out of gear and back in,guaranteed a flip over. Hated that thing. Riding 4 wheelers is nice, but takes the fun out of riding,so always been three wheels

I'll be 46 this November. I feel pretty good other than the knees. My knees felt a little more like 96 at Breezewood this year (in my 1st ever motocross), haha! I wasn't allowed to race my 250r when I was a teen so it was a bucket list thing I had to do 30 years later. It was funny, I thought I'd be racing mainly guys my age or older...when I looked at the sign-in sheets later, I realized that I was older than 64 of the 66 trikes that showed up that day, LOL!!! I was proud of my self though, I finished right in the middle of the pack of the 2-strokes, and finished better than last on the 350x and 200x.
One guy asked me:
"So this is your first motocross huh?" I said "yep"
He said "and you are gonna race 3 classes??" I said "yep"
He said "and you're 40?"...I said "no, I'm 45"
He said "YOU'LL NEVER MAKE IT!"
I couldn't walk very good the next day, but by God I finished all three classes!

37 years on 3 wheels. I still feel those injuries from my teen years. I remember one time in around 1995-96 running my 350x hard on a local track with Kevin Windham and a couple of his buds. Not sure they were trying too hard but I did get applause from the crowd that had gathered. I was sore for a week afterward.

Thirty-eight last January. I still remember bringing home a "safety checklist" the school sent home in second grade concerning proper ATC operation (helmets, adult supervision, check throttle and brakes before riding, etc) in what must have been 85? I wanted a trike, and apparently my folks were about to get one when my aunt who's an X-ray tech and a worry wart talked them out of it. Got my first dirt bike at 14, and I finally bought my first trike at 18.

No childhood pictures from me because cameras hadn't been invented yet...

I was in the Army when the trike craze was in its heyday, and I never rode an atc until I was at a welcome home party in 1984. I promptly dismissed them after repeatedly running over my foot.
I have owned and ridden motorcycles for over 30 years, but the atc bug didn't infect me until about 6 years ago.
The trikes have a cool factor that can't be denied. Every visitor that sees my '84 lil Big Red usually asks if it runs (it runs well), if I want to sell it, or if I know that they are dangerous.
The answers I give are yes, HELL NO!, and yes, in that order.

Just turned 28 this year. Started out on my 1983 KLT200c about 10 years ago. The first trike I drove. I got hit with the bug hard.

Picked up a YT175 sometime after that, modded it, and rode the hell out of it. Picked up my Tecate near the End of my 175's life(needs a piston, bore, and crank is full of piston particles).

I've since had me a few machines in my hand. In this order i think. The most expensive was my 85 Tecate. $250+$50 in gas and a parts bike (2001 Ninja 250). No regrets!!

I bought my 84 250r, in 1999 at the age of 15. First time I rode it, it handed it back and didn't like it. I was a Dirtbike guy. It grew on me and I ended up buying it. My neighbor told my dad I'd kill myself on it. Dad wasn't a big fan of the 250r but knew I liked it. Ended up selling it when I was 21 or so, to pay for a dozer.

Some toys came and went over the years, but my dt100, 88' cr250, it175, and lt500 never left. Started dated a Canadian girl almost 2 years ago, and her neighbor was a trx250r nut. Lots of bench racing ensued, and we started buying up trx's. A nice '86 atc250r came up locally on eBay, and I bought it. Dad was like, "you finally got another 3 wheeler"! Few years ago I started back into the power sports hobby after being burned out working. Gotta have a good balance of work and fun!

Well I made it another year, 74 this past Jan. Starting to slow down some. I have had two right shoulder replacements and a couple of weeks ago I separated my left shoulder when I wiped out when I was sledding with my grandson. He was on another sled. The steering is getting hard on my shoulders.

I’ll be 60 12/30/18. I keep wondering who that old guy in the mirror is.
