Replacing Kenda Dirt Dog 25x12-9 tires and bought Carlisle Trail Wolf 25x12-9 tires. Figured that tire sizes were the same but when the new tires arrived they look about 3 inches wider and 2 or so inches shorter than the Kenda tires (see photos). I know the tires will be taller once mounted and inflated and would expect them to be somewhat narrower, but I am concerned that the new tires will not clear the brake lines once mounted and inflated. Any idea how much I can expect these tires to "narrow up" once inflated? The first picture shows the old tire on the left (narrower) and the new tire on the right (wider). The second picture is showing the new tire on the left (shorter) and the old tire on the right (taller). None of the tires pictured are mounted.

I dont think theyll narrow up too much unless you go to a slimmer rim...not sure though

Found this on the web that explains the dimensions stamped on the side of the tire. http://www.nalsa.org/tire-facts-chart%201.pdf Also contacted Carlstar Group, the manufacturer of the Carlisle tire and they said the OD on the tire will be 25.6 inches and the section width of the tire will be 12.3 inches wide once the tire is mounted and inflated. Wish me luck!

picture of the mounted and inflated tire on the left, unmounted tire on the right as well as pictures of the new tires mounted on the machine. I couldn't believe how much the width of the tires changed after mounting and inflating.
