Hi all, new member here. Not too new to atc but until recently they've all been honda 4 strokes. Now I have a kawasaki tecate 250. I had to solder a new coil to the stator to get it running. Then a head gasket, rings, and a rdiator repair. Filled with water only to test... then throttle cable broke and let it sit over the winter, like a big dummy. The next spring I repaired the cable then tried to start it but no firing. Pulled the plug to check spark, had water on it, drained coolant and then realized I had let it freeze. What are the odds the jug and head are fubar? I noticed the gaskets, head, and some other parts seem to interchange with the kx250 81-84 i think. Anyone kow if i need a jug etc if they are same enough to use kx motor parts if the kxt stuff is not found?

The odds are very good that you now have head, cylinder, or gasket failure.
83 and 84 KX cylinders will work, but they are extremely hard to find. The 84-85 KXT cylinders are still easily found though, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding replacement parts.
