Hey guys. I have a quick question for anybody that may know the answer to it. I just bought this not running 1985 Honda ATC 110 from a friend. I bought a new air box, filter, and the hose that goes from the air box to the carb. I cleaned the valves because it had low compression and I cleaned the carb. The compression is now in the recommended range and the carb is on the correct settings. For some odd reason when I try to start it, it keeps spraying gas out the back into the air box. I have tried everything and can't figure it out, if someone could please help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Zach

Sounds like the carb needs a little more work

Are the valves adjusted correctly? I ask because I was working on a 1984 200s for a guy that was doing the same thing. The intake valve wasn't closing all the way. After adjusting the clearance, it ran great!

I will take another look at the carb and I haven't checked the valves yet so I think I might try that first. Thank you both for your suggestions.

Hello again. I figured out my problem. I went through cleaned and checked over the carb. Then I took the valves off and checked those too. I come to find out that my timing chain was off the flywheel sprocket in the back. After I got the chain back on and put it all back together she started on the 2nd pull. Now it runs like a champ!

Good to hear. Now you need to figure out why the chain was off. If it's stretched too much, it could come back off while you're riding and cause serious damage.

I think the chain was off because I didn't keep tension on it when I took the valves off.
