Hello my friends! I've had some big doings-a-transpirin' over the last, well, I guess it's pretty much ongoing. Long story short, I like writing and a lot of people like my writing, so I'm going to write. I don't know what, if anything, is going to come of it other than me writing and some people reading. Ideally if I could get to the point I could write for a living, I'd be a very happy man. I wouldn't say that's impossible. Twice I've started writing books and both times I got quite far along, however both times I had to return to my position as a slave, I mean job, driving a tractor trailer.

Last week I spent about 9 days in Thailand. Those who have the Bookface most likely saw that I had turned my page back on to share the experience with my friends and family. I intended on writing a whole thing and sharing all the pictures and videos on here for my friends here who do not have the Bookface, plus I have always loved this forum, however I have just hit a speed bump. I have made a conscious decision to direct as much energy as possible away from truck driving, which is a terrible black hole here in Boston which is consuming my life energy on a level you could compare with Glamy's wife consuming his life energy. In other words, at an extremely alarming and detrimental rate. I didn't ask my boss if I could go away, I told him I was and he could frig off if he didn't approve. Luckily he approved so he didn't have to frig off, but frig off he would have.

As it turns out, I was exactly correct in what I needed to get my head screwed back on straight. I don't know too many other Americans who decide they may find themselves on the other side of the planet for some reason, but it worked for me. Upon my realization about mid week last week that I needed to severely curtail the truck driving if not end it all together, I was still a little confused as to what I could do to take its place. I love writing, people tell me they enjoy reading my writing, so I'm going to try to write as much as I can and see what I can make of it. This is the first step that could lead me to walking in a direction I'd be very grateful to head, to write for a living. I'd be eternally grateful to any and all of you who might be interested in following me.

What I'm battling with right this second is, do I still start a thread on here about something I could share on my blog? I'm new to blogging and I don't know exactly how it works, but I do know the more people that read my posting the better for me. I wouldn't want to take anything away from this site which I love and I'll obviously still be posting here, however if I can reach a greater audience and potentially could gain from it and improve my life, I'm hesitant to start something on here. Just now I wanted to share my whole Thailand experience, but now I am balking. Would it be complete douchebaggery for me to only start threads on there as opposed to the open forum in our forum?

Regardless of what I end up doing, I'll never stop posting on this site. I will always be here, however if what I'm trying to do improves my chances of getting out of a tractor trailer, I have to direct as much energy as possible in that direction. If anyone is interested following me or seeing what I write, I'm at fabiodriven@wordpress.com. At the time of this posting I have written only one post.

I for one would much rather read about someones travel or other life experiences on here like your trip to Thailand as opposed to some of the other things that are posted on here and would also consider it to be far less self serving and douchey than many other things I see posted on here.

Interestingly.............I always wanted to be an over the road trucker and every single person but one (my nephew) said it was the worst job ever. It's something I've always wanted to do. I blame my uncle Bud who I was fascinated with as a young child everytime he brought his truck home or gave me a ride on his goldwing (in the late 70s). He would always shake my hand with a cupped silver dollar in his hand. To this day I collect silver and gold coins, own 2 Goldwings but never had a chance to drive truck for a living. When I was newly married and going to UNLV my parents neighbor, who was a long haul trucker agreed to take me along the road with him where I could lean and earn. But my wife and mother thought it wasn't a good move so I never did it. Now 4 or 5 years away from retirement I want to do it. But like 28 years ago the nay sayers are at it again with...."your to old" or "you'll have hemmeroids or diabetes " or "its the worst job ever"...........

Maybe I'll ride with my nephew who enjoys it so I get more of a positive feedback/experience rather than a negative one.

Hey thanks to all of you for the great replies. To cut to the chase, I think it would behoove me to place my words in the blog for now and see what I can make of it. As asked, and as I planned, I will gladly notify in this thread when I am going to post something new. I intend on posting something today in the blog, so this is your heads up. I don't aim to disappoint, however I must think about me right this second and see what, if anything, I can make of this.

Knappyfeet, I don't know what your nephew is smoking, but whatever it is I want some! Haha! Obviously I'm kidding, but my OTR experience was awful. I'm sure it varies depending on who you work for, but my experience was that it really sucked. It is certainly something you should try though, because clearly you have a drive to do so!

I talked to two people on the phone tonight that read it. My boss and a coworker, lol. I must say, I don't want to give anything away, but their portrayal in this story is nothing personal against them, rather it will culminate into a point that I'm attempting to make about all of us. They're merely characters in this story and in actuality they are very good men. My personal belief is that we all need to look at ourselves as a nation and see what we've been turned into and what the norm is considered to be, and that is that we must work work work work work, with the occasional side of living life. That's not how life is supposed to be, yet that's what most of us are unfortunately forced into doing. I aim to get to that when I write tomorrow.

Glamy's blog would only make sense after five dried grams and an isolation chamber.

Knappy; long haul trucking isn't that bad. I've been to every major metropolis in this country except Portland OR and Seattle WA. Boston and NYC are by far THE worst. Looking at a map of Boston is like looking at a bowl of spaghetti. There's no rhyme or reason and all the streets are one way. It's not a nice easy grid pattern like you folks get out west. Many truck drivers are retirement age I wouldn't let that sway you.
Fabio; I always enjoy your posts, please keep blogging. I feel we share quite a few views, I'm just not a gifted writer like some. Have you ever thought about moving out of the city? I lived in the greater Boston area for 5 years and found it Toxic. Growing up in rural maine, city life was a shock to me. I felt claustrophobic, suffocated and contemptuous of those around me.

That's one of the biggest differences between China and the rest of the world. They take old cities like that and level them.

They relocate all the factories to the outskirts of the "new" city, pay out the people that had homes and businesses there and then tear it down and recycle the bricks. Then subways, water and sewer, train stations and power go in and 8 lane wide streets are made of rebar and concrete. The sidewalks are handicap friendly and braille coded tiles run down the center and a bicycle & scooter lane separates them from the roads. The stop lights have digital readouts next to them telling you how much longer the light will be green as well as how long it will be red. There are no pot holes and most if not all the manhole covers are located off the streets, or perfectly level with them.

The cost for this wonderful system? Culture. They treat the major cities like we treated our sandboxes as kids. Yesterday means nothing to the individual, everything is done for the greater good. If the government wants to protect something they will, but things like the home you grew up in, or the park you learned to ride your bicycle at are at the mercy of the city planners.

Eventually all humans will need to accept this is the only way to untangle the mess of our concrete jungles, but for now I'm happy to drive a little slower down highway #9 when I visit my folks and be able to show my kid the school I went to.

Appreciated Nico, but I have bit my tongue long enough. I have sacrificed a lot in my life for what I believe and I am reckless in some ways. This is no different. I have just sacrificed my job and my livelihood. I spent two hours talking with my boss this morning and essentially have just lost my job, all premeditated by me and willing to deal with the consequences of my actions. I will still be working at my current place of employment at a limited capacity for the time being with the understanding that they will be looking for someone to take my position. My boss is a very understanding person and he is working with me as best he can, but we mutually agree that my current career path must be altered. I am taking steps onto some very shaky ground here in the name of my own well being and health. I don't know what I'll do from this point forward, but I must find a way through this life. Expecting change without making changes is the definition of insanity, so I'm making changes and keeping my hopes high that I will find a way as I always have.

THEY VOTED AGAINST HILLARY. That includes Liberals/Progressives that belong to the Union trades I interact with every friggin day.

Can you show me some incidents of the largest group of voting individuals, you know , the middle class who go to work every day, raise their kids properly, pay their bills, etc, attending violent protests (that the protestors and media try to claim are "peaceful"), throwing rocks, bricks, and bags of human excrement at police and others, destroying property, vandalizing public and private property, and assaulting individuals who think differently or support different ideals than them?

I agree wholeheartedly. That's why that while I was tempted to jump on the Trump train because I despise any and all crooked and racist Klintons, I'm afraid to see Trump co-opted by the same forces who enslave us all. After all, he did hobnob with them all.

All that matters to most of them is the Martial ideal of a Utopian Authoritarian State and all the warm and fuzzy security that they believe will come from being a wage slave member of groupthink. Conversely, Conservative leadership will sell out their own voters just the same using patriotism and terrorism to con them out of civil rights long after Trump is gone. We either need a whole string of these guys or else we need to cut the horns off the beast once and for all and reset the whole deal....Or wait until they destroy it themselves as these types always do. After they throw out the electoral college, all those in power merely need to hoodwink 51% of the population to win the throne. Second.....I agree with you Chop and the reason I joined the "Trump Team" is because of your turd analogy. Every single politician is a turd to one degree or another....in my opinion. I have been hoping for so long that someone would come onto the scene and tell it like it is.....like an average Joe would do. Trump was just that. He didn't care. I truly do enjoy your posting and I am flattered to see you posting in my thread, and especially taking as much time as you have. I began reading and almost immediately there were two things that triggered my inability to continue reading, as clearly we are on two very different pages here.


So you want to lump in the hard working, middle class, moderate Americans who are looking for POSITIVE change, You know, like LESS government in our lives, LESS taxes, LESS regulation of small business, and LESS eternal handouts to freeloaders, with the Liberal/Left Wing/Progressive dooshbag whiners who think they deserve more FREE handouts, FREE college tuition, FREE healthcare, more FREE this, and more FREE that?

That's just plain wrong and you know it.

Yes I do want to lump them all together, as clearly you did read what I wrote. This is not wrong, this is my opinion. There is no defining line where right and wrong begin and end, and those parameters are different for everyone. Without typing out my whole blog again, yes, both sides are wrong in my opinion. Right out of the gate on this post you start with the finger pointing which leads to bickering which leads to fighting. If your "choice" is so great, why did you vote for someone who you do not necessarily want to be your leader? If I walk into a place for lunch and my choices are a cold baloney sandwich with no cheese or a pop tart, I might be inclined to wonder what is wrong with the management of that particular establishment and I would most likely leave and find my lunch somewhere else. I believe there needs to be change, not "change". Change to you is a different tax bracket or some other mundane fact giving you the illusion your government is working for you. The change I seek is drastic. I truly do not think you have the capacity to see how royally fuct we are on a daily basis. Under this system with a privately owned bank and a government based on who can lie the most we need a cleanse, big time, on a scale that I feel you are not capable of comprehending. Do not jump to conclusions now, I never said anything about violence. I do not claim to know how to do these things just yet but the first step is getting people to understand how worthless their vote is and therefor every action that follows and all the bickering that ensues. It is all on purpose and this is what I'm trying to get people to see. One thing I know for certain, you and those like you "in the know" must have the strongest fingers on the planet with all the pointing you do. I'd suggest you get a bit more worldly and look outside of this country to other countries who have systems that actually do work.

I am not OK with that, and just as I eliminate people who lie to me from my life and watch it improve, I see all the room in the world for improvement with this country's government, and that goes far, far beyond the capabilities of the most recent talking head. The slate needs to be wiped clean for a plethora of reasons, far more than I will begin to get into here. I've said it all already. It is FUBAR.

Yes yes I do at the moment! Just finding it difficult to refer to myself as such when all I see are my fellow countrymen and women up in arms. About multiple things too, not just the election. Everyone needs to chill the frig out and realize that we are all human beings and in the end we are all in this together.

The law of attraction is a great thing, is it not? In this case however, I fail to see the correlation. The law of attraction has led me to some very unbelievable places with the best yet to come, however as much of a harness as I can gain over controlling this law, I cannot project it nor can I assume that other people (Donald Trump) will have any understanding of that subject whatsoever. I will assume he is familiar and I might even guess that he is well versed, however just because he is aware how to use the law of attraction to his advantage that in no way translates to the people of the United States reaping any sort of benefit of that.

Using the law of attraction, I can fabricate MY universe. I can make my own destiny. I can find my way to my happiness, and I am. If during that process I am able to have an effect on our people or government somehow, that's great, however that is not my aim.

In the past, Americans rallied to go to war with Vietnam, they rallied to go to war with Iraq, and now they rally FOR the assembly of A WALL AROUND THE LAND OF THE FREE. Our government doesn't force these things on us, they woo us into rallying to the point we almost INSIST they do these things. Things which cost thousands if not millions of lives and countless dollars and resources (to use that line again). Looking back at a government who has lied to us repeatedly over and over again, how on earth can anyone in their right mind follow anything that they have to say? If you want to believe them, by all means my friend. I will look to the past and where the future will land us to determine what is right and what is wrong in the present. I want to tell you something which you may have seen me say already; Always remember, walls don't just keep people out. Remember that.

I have a friend who is a good kid. He always means well, true blue guy. One thing about him however, he always does things backwards. I've worked with him on diesel engines and I end up cussing at him the whole time as he takes things apart in reverse, smashing other components while attempting to remove whatever it is he's fixing. It's like pulling the entire front axle from your truck to do the brakes. It drives me absolutely insane, I have a very tough time helping him work on anything. The more time I spent around this kid, the more predictable his train of thought was. I knew what his decisions were in many facets of life, not just working on trucks, because I was spending a lot of time around him. I would watch him make decisions and almost every time he would make the exact opposite decision that I would. What I began to learn and what time taught me was the best outcome for me in any situation where he had advised me to do "A", I would do "B", and every single time that theory has proven itself right. It's amazing to me how accurate that theory has proven to be.

So time and history has taught me very much about our system, how it worked in the past, the lies that have been purported upon us in the past, and the ends they cause after said event. You can look back and watch "A" cause "B" over and over again in history, which is a pattern. Patterns become very predictable (I hope you're reading Scooter). Once you recognize a pattern, you can turn that into power. A burglar can see what time people are out of the house every day and magically make your belongings disappear whilst you are out. You can surely reach through a pendulum as it swings without getting caught because you have the ability to see the pattern and therefor predict when it is safe to reach through. A government who causes atrocities across the globe and hasn't even apologized or acknowledged many of their terrorist acts and had never indicated that they might cease to do so can most certainly be expected to do what it is they do best.

So you all are OK with the people who brought you Vietnam, 9/11, and the Iraq war build a wall around you? Might the aspect of rooming with Charles Manson whet your appetite as well or?
