85 200s stator question.

OK I got a 85 200s.runs great but I am trying to work in a new headlight.but I have no power coming rim the stator except the wire that power the coil.so is the stator shot or what ?

From my experience, although none on a 200s, they have two coils on the stator. You have the lighting coil and the source (ignition) coil. If it's like those I've worked on, all you have to do is replace the lighting coil. Basically, you remove the two screws that hold on the coil, cut the wire leading out of the coil, solder the new wire onto the existing wire to the rest of the trike, screw the coil in place and reassemble. Not too hard to do, just takes time. Refer to the service manual for disassembly and reassembly instructions.
