Hey guys, well I finally got the 250r up and running and it's a blast! However I only have front brakes which is really scary and not ready for trail riding. Ive been surfing eBay and OEM parts are really pricey. I was wondering what else might work on it. I need everything from the foot peddle to master cylinder rotar and disc. I only have about 400 into the whole machine so far and not trying to spend a fortune. But being able to stop is fairly important. Thanks in Advance

I want to add that it was set up for disc brakes. I see some 1983 250r had drum brakes

The only 250r that had rear drum brakes was the 81 250r 82 and up has disc. I will check to see what I have for extra parts.

Awesome. Wasn't sure on the drum brakes. GoogleSearches sometimes come up with 83 having a drum Brake for some reason. Thanks so much I really appreciate it!

Ebay has new master cylinders, lines, and fluid holddr in a $15 dollar package.
If Im right, a 200x brake bracket fits on the 250r, so you could put a 200x caliper, or just about any CR 80 caliper on it. Airfoolers.com has a big list of parts that can be swapped out with different bikes. Or just buy a rebuilt kit for caliper
