Needing help with an 84R no powerband

I just spent all day working my butt off on my 1984 250R. Started with brand new vforce reeds, 34mm carb, full DP exhaust, and new plastics. It started up first kick and purrs like a tiger, the only problem is I no longer seem to have a powerband, it is completely lacking power and I can't wrap my mind around why. Any help would be appreciated

Food for thought...

I have seen/heard some funny stuff. A rag left in the intake? Mouse nest in the exhaust? I am not a 2 stroke guy myself but air has to flow. Air in/ Air out
