Looking at possibly adding a 250R to the stable. It's an '85, ALMOST 100% original, has some scratches on the front fender, nicks and such out of the decals, some rust on the header. Overall a really nice trike but not museum quality. More of a "ride it on sunny dry days" kind of trike. Am I out of touch thinking that $6000 is an insane asking price or is that what they are going for nowadays??

Personaly $6000 for a part time rider is way high. You should beable to find one a lot cheaper. even if you had to ship one in from AZ or Cali. Most decent riders Iv seen are between $1500 and $3500. Check CL west coast there are some deals.Im building one from scatch and I will have between $2000 and $2500 in it.But its going to be for racing.

Yeah there are a few for the cheaper money, just saw this one and wondered if there was something I didn't know justifying the crazy high price.

I keep seeing more and more people listing trikes for $5-6K - especially on eBay.
I haven't seen a reliable indicator that says people are getting that much for them.
Asking price and selling price are two very different numbers.

6k is too much. My 85 that was a great runner and in overall excellent shape went for 3800

that 86 R in New Jersey could save you some money over $6,000 for that 85 if you live close

So does it come with a small truck to haul it in for that $6000?

Lol right! I offered $3200 and he basically laughed. Oh well, everyone thinks they have a gold mine. Found another guy with a fully restored Tecate asking $8900! Its perfect but wholly crap!

6000 might be a bit much, but if it was showroom condition and original it might be considered cheap.

Showroom original 88' 250rs are bringing close to 10k on EBay. Just watched a 92 lt250r go for $5600?...It was spotless.

06 showroom condition original banshees are selling what they sold for new.

It's also getting difficult to find CR and Kx 500's for under $2500. Remember when they were $1200?

It took awhile to get here, but it looks like the best machines ever made will get their due. These are the muscle cars of the 60s IMO.

I've spent the last 2 years buying the ones I wanted...Who knows where the price will stop.

I'd keep looking. My brother bought an 85 250R from California that was all original, even tires and plastic, for $3,800 last summer. It cost him $500 to ship to KC, but the trike is very clean, only ridden in California dunes. Here's a pic of it. He found it searching CL.

some people post crazy prices when they have no skin in the game. I just saw a 250r with title for 1500 firm.
