This is the exact kit I installed back in 87 on my SX, and that's still on it today. It aint cheap, but you don't see these popping up much anymore.

No problem.
Shoot, I wish I had some extra cash. I would buy it just to put on a shelf in case I need one down the road.

Yeah, there is actually a pretty big difference between my SX with the supertrapp vs my SX without.

My offers were declined automatically up to $280. How much are these things actually worth NOS?

I tried 300 and no answer.

Anybody tried a universal supertrapp?

How loud is the Supertrapp compared to stock? I know my buddy back in the day had an XR350 and it was loud, even after adjusting the disks.

Finally getting around to installing the Supertrapp and the PRM grab bar .
Sounds great and I can definitely feel the difference in power .

I don't want to be a donkey here, but I've gotta chime in. Have you raced a stock SX? I used to run a supertrapp and I was SURE it had more nuts. Turns out, it was all in my mind. "Loud" and "Fast" are not synonyms. Try riding it with earmuffs on. And please don't think I'm being a smartass. I know that you know your stuff Shortline, and I respect your opinion. I'm just saying that I was fooled. I wonder if its possible that you have been also. Honestly, I would like to know.

Definitely a difference in mid range power and it's obviously louder than the stock exhaust but it's not excessively loud .

History has proven that stock Honda 4 stroke exhausts are hard to beat on the dyno for an overall package of power, quietness, and durability. I remember the 400EX dyno shootout where the FMF exhaust actually made LESS hp than stock. I've had a few 250SX's with Bassani exhausts, very cool sounding and a slight more top end hp if you really wrung out the rpms. Still the coolness factor of these old exhausts worth it for a conversational piece.

I hear what you are saying Redsox and have never raced both of mine head to head, but for me, where I really see a big difference is in the bottom end.
There used to be a track I road at, and it had a lot of tight sharp twists and turns, that you had to accelerate out of. My SX with the Trapp pulled way harder out of those turns, as compared to my stock SX.
