Well the allis b12 now a 16hp. These are the same as your simplicity 2012. It needs some love. It was an old pulling machine

Up for repair is the steering shaft\gear (1/2 turn of slop)

tiller adjustment. The big tires sit too high so the tiller doesn't dig enough. If I lengthen the lift rod to the max it won't lift clear of the ground. I will have to make up something.

finally a broken sickle bar cutter, scrap vs rebuild. Pics to follow as I progress

Only had an hour today so I pulled the steering shaft. The shaft was worn, gear was reasonable.
Before pic w the daylight around shaft. It is amazing how a little wear translates into nearly 1/2 turn at the wheel. The steering was so bad that if I hit a rock and the front tires were knocked to side the front end would jackknife. I would have to reverse to unbind

Back together, no slop here. Assembled I am down to about 20 degrees of slop from 180

The journey of 1000 miles starts with one step, keep going! What do you plan on doing with this rig once done?

This was my first tractor. I will just keep using it. U should see the weed cutter attachment! No way it would've allowed today and so sweet. I also use the sickle bar, just got rid of the York rake and earthcavator attachment. Selling the snowblowe attachment as I don't use it maybe a mowing deck as I don't mow.

I can't remember how I broke the block years ago but I weeded it up without more than pulling the pan. Still running strong

Well here was today's project. The lifts I have can bumper or frame lift from ends but for small machines that is not ideal. I need to lift my atv's, small tractors and Argo 8x8. I had 4 10' pieces of angle that I had salvaged. These are 6"x4"x3/8". Weight is 125lbs a piece.
This is how the frame lifts attach to lifts. Just a sleeve that slides over the arms, both are in pic for reference.

Here is my scrap. The one on the right is a single and my plan is to double them up like on left. 5 bolt holes are already present. 3/4 grade 8 bolts go in. (I wonder what the yield strength of this construct?)

Worked like a charm but they are heavy at 250lb per section

So I popped some steel casters off their mounts (more from the scrap pile) and drilled and bolted them on.

I did this at the balance point so they now roll and turn with just my foot to guide. Very smooth and easy. Frankly I did a bit too well finding the balance point as they tend to want to just roll on their own with just a stiff breeze!

Lifts were around 30 I think, I don't remember the breakdown as I had the stands in there for around 1k each and the adapter for frame lifts for around 3k, all told close to 40
