Yes, very reliable work platform. Not as sought after as the 250, no rear suspension, but good machines all the same. This looks to be the shaft drive version which is an advantage as long as it's still got oil in the rear end.

This bike needs to bought back to its original glory

84/5 200es

200es was only one year, 1984. In 1985 the 250es replaced the 200es. Prior to '84 the 200 Big Red (as all of these models were known) was a 200e. The 200e had e-start, 5spd dual range transmission, was chain drive and I'm not sure if it had reverse or not, can't remember. The '84 200es was all of the above but shaft drive and had reverse.

If it is shaft drive then it is an '84 200es, period. No other possible model/year.

Red, atc200es was a two year model in Australia, and was sold new along side the 250es. So I beg to differ on the whole no other possible model/year.

Ah, I didn't notice you were in Australia. I'm guessing that the OP from there too?? If so, I have no doubt that you are right.

Sorry about the tunnel vision there neighbor. :beer

The subtransmission is not even remotely similar to that of a 200ES, and the "ears" at the lower rear of the fuel tank suggest that it is either a 185S or 200S item.

I don't know where Pagagould is, but in North America that is a 82 or 83 Big red. It is chain drive.

Guys, that is a 200es, every day of the week. Sure the year is debatable, but that reverse/shaft drive sub assembly, forks and plastic are unmistakable.

Call Guinness, that's the most bald go cart tire I have ever seen. Must be a record.

Trick shot, have a closer look at the pictures, the forks are painted black so it's easy to miss the fork leg gusset, and the pull start cover is off the case, so it makes the bottom end look different.

That trike is a 200es

Dog leg style brake lever makes it a 83 200e, (unless it has been replaced).

The 200es says "REVERSE SHAFT" right on the subtransmission.

Not real good pics and pieces missing sure does make it a little trickier to find those smaller key items we can use to identify them. Heck, I own a 200es and those pics are just missing those angles that would make it simple for us to make a definitive ID... If only they took a straight on shot of the rear end, would have been a dead giveaway! LOL! Cheers fellas. :)

I thought that maybe since it was an Australian model, it may have been built a little differently than an American model. I mean, who here in America has ever seen a Ford ranger with 6 bolt wheels?241792

Your right Red, A picture of the rear end would have been a dead give away.

350, crew cab (or dual cab) rangers are everywhere over here. Here's the one I drive:

Happy that we determined this was a 200e, but just out of interest I thought I'd show you guys an ID plate of an Australian delivered 1985 200es. My apologies for the poor quality of the plate, These things don't grow on trees, enjoy:

Oz, I took that while I was in Iraq as a civilian contractor. I figured it was probably Australian. Here in the States, we don't get to see them. That's why I took it.

Yeah, the Australian army had a lot of rangers for admin vehicles. The model you saw there was the older shape, I suspect last of the PY Rangers. They are pretty tame compared to the newer PX MK1 and 2 Rangers. the one I'm driving is a PX MK1.

Congratulations,

Ahh the joy of a new toy, it looks a bit better cleaned up.

Although there's still some ways to go. Was the black paint hiding any horror stories?
